Products

We work with multiple suppliers located in Canada, the United States and China. Many of our products come from Europe, such as the Czech Republic and Austria. We also have products that come from the African continent, the Philippines and Indonesia. Since Canada is not a major producer of beads and pearls, we must inevitably turn to imports.

For some products imperfections are unavoidable. Recycled glass, Indonesian resin, mother of pearl, freshwater pearls, Chinese seed beads and other collections contain imperfections that are normal due to their handcrafted nature or the natural material used. Semi-precious stones are no exception, their natural origin may cause some imperfections to remain visible on beads. All beads handmade stones may have some irregularities, which are not in themselves defects. Dimensions may also vary slightly for handmade beads .

We cannot guarantee that the color of the item you order will match the color you see on your monitor. Because monitors and screens have different characteristics and adjustments, colors may vary.

The delay varies for each item since they come from different suppliers. Several weeks of waiting are possible for items in import. Others will be back in stock within a few days. We are not responsible for the waiting period if the desired item is out of stock with our supplier. If an item is discontinued, it will no longer be visible on our site, in order to avoid confusion with items on hold.

Material

Very present in the choice that is offered to us and their styles are all the more varied. The method of production characterizes the final bead . The difference is great between a bead of mechanically pressed glass, as are the Czech beads , and a bead shaped with the flame by hand. Multiple effects can be added to these beads, such as metallic Murano style, cat's eye effect, frosted glass, pearlescent beads and more.

Crystal is originally made primarily of silica (silicon oxide), like ordinary glass, but it also contains 10-32% lead oxide. This allows it to lower its melting temperature, increase its malleability period, facilitate cutting and cold polishing, which increases its brilliance. This is why the crystal seems to diffuse light in all directions when cut.

Anything is possible, let us explain! Iron, zinc, copper or brass based items that are plated with different colors frequently lose their original appearance. If stored properly, the item should not change initially. The change often occurs when your jewelry is worn. The acidity produced by the skin alters the finish of the metal parts. The item may blacken, tarnish, lose some of the plating color and revert to base metals. Some people will experience this effect in minutes, while others may wear your jewelry for years without change.

Yes, contact with water and perfumes is not recommended and what about disinfectant gel. The storage location can have an effect if the humidity level is high. Having your workshop in a basement, for example, could affect the chains or other components. Try to keep your parts in airtight bags, if possible this will help. And why not keep the little silica gel packets, found in shoe boxes, to insert in your jewelry cases or bags, a plus!

Initially, darker plated colors or colors that have already been antiqued will pose less of an oxidation problem and show less of the effects of tarnishing. So prioritize black nickel, antique brass and antique copper. Otherwise, turn to stainless steel. This material is increasingly available in the jewelry world. It offers an exceptional life span, while being very resistant and causing fewer allergic reactions. A good choice for the price.

Stainless steel is an iron/carbon/chromium alloy where the chromium content is greater than about 12%. It is the addition of chromium that makes this material highly resistant to corrosion, forming an invisible and protective passivation film.

In the case of 304 steel, the alloy contains 18% chromium and 8% nickel. This makes it highly resistant to corrosion in most environments. For 316, the alloy is 18% chrome, 10% nickel and 2% molybdenum. This will make it corrosion resistant in aggressive wet environments. If you are allergic to nickel, the composition of stainless steel can cause reactions. Try to test your tolerance, as allergic reactions are rare.

Simply that the alloy has a "low carbon" content. The carbon content has been reduced to increase its resistance to corrosion in a chlorinated environment, by limiting the presence of metallic carbides. A bit technical! Note that for general use, the difference will not be noticeable.

Tin is a pure metal, extracted from mines. It is stainless and naturally silvery. It does not require any particular maintenance and with time will obtain a beautiful patina. Tin cannot be manufactured, but it is used in the composition of bronze, together with copper.
